8th Bagoong Festival 2019

ba・go・ong
Definition of bagoong
- a paste or sauce from small fish and prawns which have been salted and fermented that is used as seasoning by Filipinos
A bagoong was made from fish. The most common types of fish used for bagoong isda are: anchovies (dilis), round scads (galunggong), bonnet mouths (terong) which has many skills and adds flavor to the bagoong.
And our Teachers were also anxious to witness this kind of celebration for themselves. Picture from left to right: Teacher Veverly, Teacher Hazel and Teacher Demi.



Lingayen’s Bagoong Festival features and promotes the town’s very famous product none other than “Bagoong” since 2011. The celebration starts with its parade and the security officers are always there to promote peace and order for the entire celebration.


And look at our Parrots Kun Teachers starting from left to right: Teacher Demi, Teacher Veverly and Teacher Jean are also joining the crowd and can hardly wait for the parade to start.


Teacher Demi was so happy and excited to be part of the crowd awaits for the parade to come by.



Ah, finally the parade has started already and look at those very talented and skilled majorettes whose drawing attention of the crowds. How beautifully they have showed their exhibitions to
please the people.


Students from all schools in Lingayen were part of the parade too. They carry basket, where the small fishes will be placed after being caught from the sea. In the old days, the people who makes bagoong uses big clay pot and now a days, they are using big blue drum where the fresh small fishes caught from the sea will be fermented for 8 months to a year to have more good taste.


And of course, parade will not be complete if we will not show the newly crowned 2019 Ms. Lingayen (Miss Christine Joy Paragas)
