Are you ready!? Let’s go!

Welcome to the Japanese tunnel!

Sited in the heart of Botanical Garden is the Japanese tunnel walk that will surely excite you. The tunnel is known to be the longest Japanese tunnel in the Philippines. It measures 150 meters and stretches to parts of Barangay Pacdal, Outlook Drive and The Mansion in Romulo Drive. It was built by the Japanese in World War 2 and was restructured to open for the tourists by the government of Baguio.

The tunnel is an adventure as you enter its cool and narrow atmosphere. It was tall enough for people to walk by. It is well lighted for the tourists but despite of the lights, the tunnel itself will give chills and wonder. It had little chambers in it that can fit in two people. It takes about 10-15 minutes to explore and make a turn to the whole tunnel.
The walkway however can get slippery when it’s raining so it’s best to visit the tunnel in a fine weather and between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm as the lights automatically turns off at 6 p.m.
Philippines and Japan will always have a special connection. In fact, the month of July is the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month. It is for the commemoration of the normalization of the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan on July 23, 1956.

We are happy to have this historical tour with you. We are excited to share with you more of our adventures! Thank you so much for reading.
See you on the next blog!
